WEEK OF MARCH 22, 2019

“Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth. Trouble and anguish have overtaken me, yet Your commandments are my delights. The righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting; Give me understanding, and I shall live.” Psalm:142-144; NKJV)

The trials and tribulations of life often force us to turn to someone or something for help. We often tend to look for a sympathetic ear first when wrestling with a problem and we have all been given wise counsel from others.

The Psalmist knew though it was best to turn to God for wisdom and discernment. He said, “Give me understanding that I may live.” He knew God’s plan for his life would preserve him from wrongful actions. Therefore, he chose to delight in God and to uphold His statutes.

Are you wrestling with a difficult problem? God promises to grant us wisdom if we ask Him for it. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5, NKJV). Pray to God for discernment and wisdom in your struggle and ask Him to teach you what you need to know so that you can apply His wisdom to your situation.
