Obedience Builds Trust

Week of September 11, 2020

“Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.  So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.  For we walk by faith, not by sight.  We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.   Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.”  2 Corinthians 5:5-9 (NKJV)

If we disobey God and you continue that pattern, you will live with the fear that your disobedience will be revealed one day.  This results in a lack of confidence, which is necessary for a purposeful and joyful life.

To have faith and trust in God, it is important that you obey Him.  I am speaking of the kind of obedience that is not the reluctant acceptance of something that has to be done, but a glad acceptance of His will for your life.

With the gift of the Holy Spirit residing in every born again Christian, our greatest desire should be to do the will for God.  When that is our desire, you will receive a power that enables you to live a life that is pleasing to God.

One of the rewards of living as God expects you to is that you live without fear; as you walk in the total obedience to the Spirit who dwells in you, you develop a relationship of trust with God and a deeper appreciation of yourself.
