Jesus Is Your Friend

Week of August 28, 2020

“Jesus wept. Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!” John 11:35-36 (NKJV)

“A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24(NKJV)

There are people who are skeptical and not so sure that Jesus understands human problems.  They see Him as someone who is removed from our everyday life.  They believe that He might be concerned with universal matters but to think He is concerned with the inconsequential matters of my personal life – no way.  But that is a misconception of God, of His love and care for those He created and for whom His son died for.

Never lose sight of the fact that Jesus is not only your master but also your friend.  Because He lived amongst us for 33 years, He understands human problems and emotions.  He endured suffering and disappointments, and He also felt joy and happiness.

The Savior is waiting for us to invite Him to be a part of our everyday life.  Open your heart to Him so that He can help you in whatever circumstances you may find yourself.  He is your friend, He loves you, and He understands what is happening in your life.

God Bless, Pastor Rick
