“If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.” Psalm 139:8-10
The eternal nature of God is revealed in these verses. These verses are simply stating that God is everywhere present. As I recently said in a message, God is in the past, the present, and the future all at once. He is not bound by time or space. This attribute we call the omnipresence of God.
Throughout your entire life, you will never experience a moment in your life where God is not present in Spirit. When we are on the mountaintop, God is there. When we are in the valley, God is there. When you are full of joy, God is there. When you feel depressed, God is there. When we enjoy great success, God is there. When our failure overwhelms our senses, God is there.
So, I just want you to remember today and every day that God’s presence is with you to comfort you or discomfort, depending on our actions and reactions to His ever-present Spirit.
Maybe as your reading this devotional, you are feeling very distant from God. Mother Teresa once said, “When you feel lonely, when you feel unwanted when you feel sick and forgotten, remember you’re precious to Him.” He has never stopped loving you and He never will, He is always right there by your side.
God Bless, Pastor Rick
