“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” John 14:16-17 (NKJV)

The expectations and the demands of life put great pressure on people. Sadly, this often times causes despair and uncertainty.

Jesus understands how fallible and fragile humans are. He has given to us the gift of the Holy Spirit to help us cope with the demands of life. The disciples needed the power and strength of the Holy Spirit to encourage them when they faced opposition to their preaching of the gospel.

The gift of the Spirit is for every believer. God said in Joel 2:28, “I will pour out My Spirit on all people.”

It is essential to allow the Spirit to be at work in our lives, to enable us to cope with life in all its many facets and to live according to the Lord’s will. Allow Him to lead and guide you through this life. Find the time, make the time to get alone with God and ask for Him to speak to you. Don’t be surprised when you discover the voice of God speaking to your heart, giving directions, calming your emotions, and providing peace that passes all understanding. The end result will be, we; like the disciples will be able to handle the situations of life, no matter how difficult.
