“Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?” They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?” He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).” (John 1:38–39, NKJV)
There should come a time for each of us when merely talking about the Christian pilgrimage is not sufficient. We must take the action of setting out on the journey with Christ. For many generations the coming of the Messiah had been predicted by the prophets of Israel and had been expected by the Jewish people. The disciple Andrew had listened to John the Baptist and had also heard of the coming Messiah. Little did he know that he would come face to face with the one he had yearned to see! Andrew’s mind was filled with questions that he longed to ask the Messiah but the approach that Jesus took was not through theological dialogue alone. Instead Jesus invited him to enter into a lifelong walk. Andrew learned that his questions would not be answered by discussion alone but by walking with Him every day.
Christianity is not a set of teachings to just understand, it is a person that you follow daily. Moments will come when you will stand at the crossroads with your Lord and you will have questions. You will find that your questions are answered as you walk with Him on a day-to-day basis. As you walk with him you will discover far more then you ever knew to ask!
