What If Christ Had Not Come

Week of December 13, 2019

“If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.” (John 15:22, NKJV)

It is rather disturbing when Christ says, “If I had not come…” We would have found ourselves in a world without the joy of Christmas. No Christmas blessings, no family Christmas get-togethers, but To God be the Glory He did come. Yet the danger is that we can celebrate Christmas but forget about Christ if we leave Him on the outside of our celebrations.

If Christ had not come, we would have lived in a world without the message of love. The good news of Christmas is that God loves us, we love God, we love one another, and this is possible because Jesus did come.

If Christ had not come, we would have no gospel. There would have been no salvation, no eternal life with God. We would have to carry the burden of our sin because there would have been no cross of reconciliation. There would have been no hope for the future!

The good news of Christmas is, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all the people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior; who is Christ the Lord” Luke 2:10-11. He did come, and all that He offers is offered to who so ever will receive it. That includes us all. To God be the Glory.

God bless, Pastor Rick
