Keep Your Spirit Growing

Week of October 22, 2021

“We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other” 2 Thessalonians 1:3 (NKJV)

If you are no longer enjoying your spiritual experience you have probably allowed stagnation to rob you of your spiritual zeal.  A vibrant and exciting spiritual life requires constant attention.  There will never be a point when nothing more is required from you.  The longer you walk with the Lord the greater your enthusiasm should be, and any tendency to ease up in your walk with the Lord, should be resisted with all of your might.

It’s our quiet times, those times of prayer, reading God’s Word, and contemplation on the things of God that sustain and nurture our spiritual life.  When you start fading spiritually ask God for the wisdom and the courage to confess your negligence and do something constructive about this attitude that is making you feel spiritually barren.

To grow spiritually we must become more aware of the presence of the living Christ in our life.  Take steps to make that a reality and you will experience joy and vigor in your Christian walk that you never thought was possible.
