“May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.” (Romans 15:5, NLT)
We all experience times when discouragement pulls us down. There are days, for no apparent reason, that it seems difficult to handle the demands of life. Everything you try seems to fail and you feel that you just can’t cope with life.
When you’ve come to the end of your own abilities, come before God in silence. It is during those times that He gives encouragement and hope. In the silent awareness of God’s presence you recall the promises of God. You also recall how He has intervened in your life in the past. It will revive hope in your soul and it will also give you strength to complete the task that He has given you to do. God will not leave you in the valley of despair. He will encourage you and you will experience His peace and joy.
