Revival begins in you and me. As God’s people get right with Him, He does great things in and through us.
“Will You not Yourself revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?” (Psalm 85:6)
-
Lord, I pray that revival will begin in me.
“And My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
-
Lord, help me comprehend the depth of Your love for me.
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” Ephesians 3:18–19
-
Lord, open my eyes to see opportunities to share Jesus.
“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.” John 4:35
-
Lord, during this time of year, when even our culture is more aware that Jesus died on a cross and rose again, help me boldly start conversations with others, inviting them to church and to a relationship with You.
“So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.” Ephesians 5:15–16
-
Lord, give me the boldness to share Jesus and invite people to church.
“On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul.” Psalm 138:3
-
Lord, I pray that others will see Your goodness reflected in me.
“For you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
-
Lord, help me witness with the Holy Spirit’s power.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8
There are needs in our lives and families. However, as we see from the life of Job, it’s often when we get our eyes off ourselves and pray for others that God moves in amazing ways.
“The Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased all that Job had twofold”
(Job 42:10)
-
Lord, may You use the invitation mailers, social media posts, and personal invitations to draw people to Jesus and to attend an Easter service.
“The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying, ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have drawn you with lovingkindness.’” Jeremiah 31:3
-
Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit will convict lost people of their need for Jesus.
“And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.” John 16:8
-
Lord, draw disconnected Christians back to Christ and His Church.
“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25
-
Lord, make people hungry and thirsty for Jesus.
“For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.” 1 Peter 1:18–19
-
Lord, I pray that Your love and goodness will draw everyone to You.
“Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?” Romans 2:4
-
Father, give Your people divine opportunities to share Jesus and invite people to Easter services.
“Then the Spirit said to Philip, ‘Go up and join this chariot.’ Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, ‘Do you understand what you are reading?’ And he said, ‘Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?’ And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.” Acts 8:29–31
-
Lord, open the eyes of moms and dads to see the need for their children to be in church this Easter.
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.’ And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.” Matthew 19:14–15
Much work will go into preparing for this year’s Easter services: the sermon, the worship music, visiting our neighbors, media production, and so much more. However, unless the Lord pours out His Spirit, nothing that matters for eternity will take place. “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain” (Psalm 127:1)
-
Lord, as we go into our community to share Jesus this week, may people see Jesus in us.
“I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes.” Acts 20:20
-
Lord, give Pastor Rick the power, wisdom, and anointing he needs to proclaim Your Word with boldness.
“And pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.” Ephesians 6:19
-
Lord, pour out Your Spirit upon those who will lead us in worship.
“Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe” Hebrews 12:28
-
Lord, may “the glory of God fill the house of God” during all Easter Services at Gateway.
“When they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the Lord saying, ‘He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,’ then the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.” 2 Chronicles 5:13–14
-
Lord, I pray that life-transforming commitments (some for salvation, others for renewal) will be made during all Easter Services.
“How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” 1 Kings 18:21
-
Lord, I pray for all of those who will be involved in our Saturday Easter outreach.
"Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest'" Matthew 9: 37-38
-
Lord, I pray that there would be souls added to Your Kingdom at all of our Easter services.
“And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.” Acts 2:40-41
