GATEWAY YOUTH CO. IS THE STUDENT MINISTRY AT GATEWAY CHURCH IN
SPRING, TEXAS.
Our mission is to reach new students every day, helping them develop an authentic relationship with Christ by knowing, experiencing, studying, and sharing God with their world.
GYC exists firstly to glorify God in everything we do. To that end we seek to build a genuine community of believers where students can live out their faith in the midst of encouragement and biblically sound teaching.
Students of this generation often are full of challenging questions about Christianity. We want them to be comfortable in asking those questions and to guide them towards the answers that God provides.
We also believe that being a believer involves joining with God in what he is doing in the world, thus we hold that meeting the needs of others outside the church, while requiring absolutely nothing of them in return, is very important.
ABOVE ALL WE WANT TO BRING STUDENTS, AGES JUNIOR HIGH THROUGH COLLEGE, TO ENCOUNTER JESUS CHRIST IN A POWERFUL WAY AND TO MAKE GENUINE FAITH COMMITMENTS TO BE HIS FOLLOWERS.
MINISTRIES
JUNIOR HIGH
7th and 8th grades are pivotal times in a young person's life. During this time many of them will come under pressures and stresses that they have never experienced before. Temptations to try everything from drugs to sex will often be around them. Even in the midst of all of this God can perform amazing works in their lives.
We want to come alongside these students and help guide them towards living a Christ-centered life in the midst of all the surrounding temptations and chaos that they are beginning to become aware of in the world around them.
HIGH SCHOOL
Students in the 9th-12th grades are becoming more and more aware of the problems that exist in the world, even in many local churches. They are also becoming more aware and fixed in their understanding of that world and their place in it. It is often in this stage of life that questions, doubts, and distractions begin to overwhelm students and they begin to drift away from the church.
We want to help guide them to a biblical worldview, one in which God is the creator and we are followers of Christ in a fallen world - a world which God desperately wants to restore to right relationship with himself. We want each student to have a deep and meaningful relationship with God and to help them along their faith journey.
DRAMA TEAM
Gateway Drama's mission is to get outside of the church walls and take the Gospel message of Jesus to the lost. We want to serve our community and love on the suffering.
Gateway Drama meets every Sunday from 12:30PM-1:30PM in the Awana Room.
— In November, we start practicing for the Gateway Christmas Program.
Other times throughout the year the team will perform for Sunday morning services as well as Night of Worship. We have also served and performed at Homeless Ministries in Conroe and downtown Houston.
